70-Year-Old Man Arrested After Police Foil Alleged Marriage To Deaf, Non-Speaking Minor
According to police, after receiving information, Chota Lahore SHO Saifullah Khan dispatched a police team, including a female constable, to the location. Upon arrival, police found that the 70-year-old man was allegedly attempting to marry the minor girl.
Police officials said the girl is 15 years old and is unable to speak or hear. Police intervened at the scene, foiled the alleged marriage attempt and arrested the 70-year-old man.

Police said the suspect was allegedly attempting to marry the girl with the alleged involvement of her parents.
A case has been registered against the arrested man, and further investigation is underway. Police are also examining the role of other individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
According to police officials, legal action will be taken under laws protecting the rights and safety of children if violations are established.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, authorities acted on information about the marriage of a minor girl in Peshawar's Phandu area. The Directorate of Human Rights, Child Protection Commission and police took the 13- or 14-year-old girl into protective custody.
