Iran Broadcaster Reports Widespread Damage in US-Israel War
(MENAFN) More than 50 sites operated by Iran’s state broadcaster were targeted nationwide during the 40-day conflict involving the United States and Israel that began on Feb. 28, according to the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
IRIB chief Peyman Jebelli says the organization’s prominent Glass Building in Tehran was struck again during the latest fighting. The facility had previously been damaged in a 12-day conflict in June 2025.
“In addition to the Glass Building, more than 50 other IRIB sites across the country were targeted by the enemy,” Jebelli said.
Jebelli does not disclose a precise assessment of the total destruction but says the broadcaster’s losses during the latest conflict are several times higher than those suffered during the previous 12-day war.
He also says the Tehran landmark is hit by significantly more powerful explosives this time. Unlike the earlier attack, which left the building’s ceilings intact, the latest strikes reportedly hit two sides of the structure and caused sections spanning two or three floors to collapse.
The broadcaster chief adds that the bombardment also destroyed a concrete wall, further increasing the structural damage to the facility.
