Russia, Ukraine Exchange Overnight Strikes


(MENAFN) Overnight attacks between Russia and Ukraine leave at least three people dead and 15 others injured, according to officials from both countries.

In southern Ukraine, a Russian drone strike causes damage to infrastructure at the Vinogradovka international automobile checkpoint in the Odesa region near the Moldovan border. The attack leads authorities to temporarily halt operations at the crossing.

“The Moldovan side has been notified of this,” the service said, adding that emergency crews had extinguished the fire.

Meanwhile, Russian missile strikes hit an industrial area in Kharkiv's Osnovyanskyi district, killing one person, according to local authorities.

Elsewhere, an attack on the city of Mena in Ukraine's Chernihiv region injures 12 people, including four children, according to reports from law enforcement authorities.

In the capital Kyiv, falling debris from a drone damages a 16-story residential building and leaves one person injured.

Ukraine's air force says it neutralized 124 drones across the northern, southern and eastern parts of the country. Meanwhile, Russian authorities claim that their air defenses intercepted 148 aerial targets over several areas, including Russian territory, Crimea and waters near the Azov and Black seas.
