Sudanese Forces Destroy RSF Vehicles, Capture Fighters
(MENAFN) Sudan’s Joint Force of Armed Movements says it destroys dozens of vehicles belonging to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and captures dozens of fighters during an operation carried out alongside the Sudanese army.
Joint Force spokesman Mutawakil Ali Wakeel says the operation takes place on the desert front, where the group works with the Sudanese Armed Forces and Popular Resistance forces to target a mobile RSF convoy.
According to the spokesman, the fighting causes significant losses to the RSF in both personnel and military equipment.
The desert front stretches across parts of northern and western Sudan and reaches the country's borders with Chad and Libya.
“The operation resulted in the destruction of 49 combat vehicles and the seizure of 30 vehicles in good condition, along with a fuel tanker,” Wakil said.
The operation also results in the capture of 70 RSF fighters, while forces seize a large quantity of batteries used to operate drones.
Wakeel says the assessment of the military operation is still underway as authorities continue evaluating the losses inflicted on the RSF.
