Kyiv and Helsinki have signed documents on the joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Finland for the needs of Ukraine and Europe.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on August 23 on his Telegram channel. Zelensky said that Ukrainian companies had reached an official agreement on the development and production of drones in Finland.

According to him, the parties agreed to expand capabilities in the production of maritime drones, as well as to establish joint ventures for the manufacturing of ground-based robotic systems. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that the partnership would combine Ukraine's combat experience with Finland's advanced technologies.

"From the very beginning of this war, you have been with us. And now, as our military and defense sector has grown, we can cooperate, we have started joint production, and we have not just agreements, not just papers – we have real tools, and we already have real results," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

It should be noted that earlier, Politico reported that the Pentagon would step back from its leading role in supplying weapons to Ukraine. On August 16, it was also revealed that several U.S. departments and agencies had simultaneously launched 49 investigations related to arms supplies to Ukraine.
