Pentagon Reports Rising US Military Casualties in Iran War
(MENAFN) US military casualties from the conflict with Iran reach 774, including 18 deaths, according to the latest figures from the Pentagon's casualty reporting system.
The Defense Casualty Analysis System records 756 service members as having suffered injuries since the conflict began on Feb. 28.
The latest data separates the casualties into two periods, reflecting changes in the military and diplomatic circumstances surrounding the conflict.
The first period, identified as Operation Epic Fury, records 14 deaths and 417 injured personnel. Seven of the deaths are classified as hostile fatalities, covering service members killed in action or those who later die from their wounds. The other seven deaths are attributed to accidents or remain undetermined, with the US Air Force and Navy accounting for most of these cases.
The second category, referred to as Overseas Operations, covers casualties recorded since July 7. This period follows the breakdown of the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran and comes one day before President Donald Trump formally declares the ceasefire "over."
