President Mirziyoyev, President Tokayev Discuss Kurultai, Bilateral Ties
This was reflected in the statement by the press service of the Uzbek president, following a phone call between the two leaders.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev congratulated Tokayev on the successful completion of the historic elections to Kazakhstan's single-chamber Kurultai.
Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the new legislature would become an important factor in advancing Kazakhstan's ongoing reforms, providing effective legislative support for large-scale transformations and giving additional momentum to the country's sustainable development.
The Uzbek president also emphasized the importance of the new parliamentary structure in supporting the implementation of reforms and strengthening Kazakhstan's institutional framework.
"During the conversation, the heads of state noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance," the press service noted.
Particular attention was given to expanding mutual trade, increasing industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects and strengthening transport and logistics links.
The presidents also discussed creating new opportunities to increase business contacts between regions of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The leaders exchanged views on current regional and international issues, according to the statement.
