Norwegian PM Visits Site Of Russian Attack On Kyiv

“As part of an official visit to Ukraine, State Emergency Service Head Andriy Danik met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. During the meeting, they inspected one of the sites in Kyiv that was damaged as a result of the Russian strike,” the statement reads.

The head of the State Emergency Service briefed the Norwegian delegation on the response protocols for emergency units operating in wartime conditions and discussed the key challenges Ukrainian rescue workers face on a daily basis.

As Danik noted, State Emergency Service specialists are working under difficult conditions, often under the threat of repeated shelling.

“However, our main task always remains the same-to save people, help every victim, and quickly address the consequences of the attacks,” he emphasized.

The head of the agency thanked the government and people of Norway for their unwavering support of Ukraine and their substantial assistance to the State Emergency Service units during this difficult time.

As reported by Ukrinform, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met at the Kyiv railway station with leaders of six European countries and other high-ranking officials who arrived in the capital on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day. Among them was Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who, prior to his arrival in the Ukrainian capital, commented on the latest Russian attacks:“Russia has no qualms when it comes to distinguishing between civilian and military targets. It is precisely civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, schools, and hospitals that have been targeted, which constitutes a systematic violation of international law.”
