War Update: 196 Clashes On Front Line, Kostiantynivka Sector Remains Hottest
“A total of 196 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of the day. The aggressor launched 62 airstrikes using 194 guided aerial bombs, deployed 7,032 kamikaze drones for attacks, and carried out 2,338 strikes on the positions of our troops and populated areas,” the General Staff said.
According to the General Staff, three combat clashes were reported in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors since the beginning of the day. The enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped one aerial bomb, and launched 77 shelling attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas.
During the day, Russian forces made four attempts to storm Ukrainian positions in the direction of Okhrimivka in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector. One clash is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched 11 assault operations toward Radkivka and Kupiansk.
Ukrainian forces repelled 12 attempts by Russian troops to advance in the Lyman sector, toward Stepove, Chervonyi Stav, Druzheliubivka, Novyi Myr, Drobysheve, Lyman and Novoselivka. Four attacks are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped four Russian attempts to advance near Ozerne, Kryva Luka and Zakitne. One clash is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted one offensive operation toward Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 22 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Toretske and Sofiivka, as well as toward Stepanivka, Pavlivka and Vilne.
Russian forces launched 14 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. The occupiers attempted to advance toward Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Svitle, Serhiivka and Novopavlivka, as well as near Dorozhnie and Udachne. One clash is still ongoing.

Ukrainian forces destroyed six vehicles, two artillery systems, three pieces of special equipment, three ammunition depots and 30 personnel shelters. Three vehicles, five guns, one piece of special equipment, three UAV control posts and 72 personnel shelters were damaged. A total of 329 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
No Russian offensive operations were recorded in the O leksandrivka sector.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attacks toward Verkhnia Tersa and Staroukrainka, as well as near Zaliznychne and Tsvitkove.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces stopped one Russian attempt to advance toward Pavlivka.
In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces conducted no offensive operations.
No significant changes in the situation have been recorded in other sectors of the front.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine's Defense Forces confirmed the destruction of a Russian Su-24M aircraft and other Russian equipment in temporarily occupied Crimea on August 20.
