Syria Warns Israeli Attacks Escalate Regional Tensions
(MENAFN) Syria warns that continued Israeli military operations on its territory are increasing regional instability and placing civilians at greater risk, while urging the United Nations Security Council and the international community to intervene.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry strongly condemns an Israeli drone strike against a civilian vehicle in Beit Jinn, in the western countryside of Damascus, which reportedly leaves several people injured.
“This attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a blatant breach of international law," the ministry said.
The ministry describes the incident as part of a broader pattern of Israeli attacks inside Syrian territory and says Israel bears “fully responsible” for the consequences of its military actions.
It warns that continued strikes could further intensify tensions, deepen instability across the region and endanger civilians.
Damascus calls on the international community and the UN Security Council “to shoulder their legal and political responsibilities, work to halt these attacks, and put an end to Israel's repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty."
Syria urges international bodies to take concrete measures to stop further Israeli attacks and prevent additional escalation in the region.
