Egyptian Minister, Gaza Envoy Review Ceasefire Progress, Next Phase

(MENAFN) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Board of Peace envoy Nikolay Mladenov held talks on Sunday to review the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and preparations for the next phase of the ceasefire plan.

According to reports, the two officials discussed ongoing negotiations during a phone call aimed at completing the implementation of commitments outlined under US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.

Abdelatty stressed “the importance of fulfilling all commitments under the plan’s first phase, including ensuring the full, safe and sustainable delivery of humanitarian assistance and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, followed by early recovery and reconstruction.”

The discussions also focused on arrangements for the upcoming phase of the ceasefire process.

According to reports, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized that the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza should begin operating from within the enclave “to manage the transitional period efficiently and preserve the unity of the Palestinian territories.”

He also called on all parties to honor their commitments under the plan and avoid any actions that could hinder its implementation.
