Turkish Airlines Seal Simulator, Sustainability Deals at Farnborough

(MENAFN) Turkish Airlines sealed three major agreements at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK, moving to sharpen its pilot training capabilities through a fresh round of simulator purchases, the flag carrier's chairman announced in a recent social media post.

Chairman Murat Seker said the airline signed a contract with Turkish firm Havelsan for eight full-flight simulators and four flight training devices, alongside a separate deal with Canada's CAE (Canadian Aviation Electronics) for seven full-flight simulators and two flight training devices.

Seker described the agreements as milestone steps toward reinforcing the carrier's training infrastructure, a priority as its expanding fleet drives up demand for qualified pilots. The new equipment, he noted, will support training across a range of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft.

Turkish Airlines also joined the Sustainable Aviation Financing Alliance (SAFFA) investment fund as part of the Farnborough agreements, a move aimed at speeding up production of sustainable aviation fuel and advancing the industry's carbon-reduction targets, Seker said.

He added that the airline continues working toward its 2033 strategic goals through partnerships with stakeholders both in Türkiye and internationally.
