Katie Holmes Has A New Boyfriend, And He Is A New York Artist

(MENAFN- USA Art News) Katie Holmes and Jason Bard Yarmosky's Tribeca connection is drawing attention beyond the film festival circuit

Katie Holmes, who wrote and directed the film“Happy Hours,” met artist Jason Bard Yarmosky around the Tribeca Film Festival, and the two have since been seen together in East Hampton. The pairing has added a fresh layer of visibility to Yarmosky, whose work has long moved between intimate family portraiture and a broader museum and gallery presence.

“Happy Hours” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6. Yarmosky took part in the 2026 Tribeca Festival Artist Awards Program, sponsored by Chanel, where he was paired with best new narrative director Miiku Sakanishi and received a colored pencil drawing titled“10.16.24” (2024). The program placed him alongside a group that also included Brendan Fernandes, Bony Ramirez, Hank Willis Thomas, and Carrie Mae Weems, underscoring Tribeca's continued interest in artists working across disciplines.

Yarmosky earned his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2010. His most recent exhibition,“Time Has Many Faces,” closed at Guild Hall in East Hampton in April and centered on stylized portraits of his late grandparents, a subject that has shaped his practice for more than a decade. Earlier,“Somewhere” at the University of Maine's Zillman Art Museum in 2017 brought together paintings and drawings of his grandmother and addressed her experience with dementia.

His work has also appeared in group exhibitions at the Jewish Museum in Vienna, the Brooklyn Museum, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark. Collector Beth Rudin DeWoody selected his work for two exhibitions she curated, one at Eric Firestone Gallery in 2019 and another at Wilding Cran in 2017. He also appeared in“Duets,” the exhibition-cum-art fair organized last fall by Zoe Lukov and Kyle DeWoody.

The overlap between Holmes's film work and Yarmosky's art-world profile reflects a familiar contemporary pattern: the boundaries between cinema, collecting, and exhibition culture are increasingly porous, and artists are often moving through all three at once.
