Ukraine Inks Drone Cooperation Agreements with NATO Allies in Ankara

Date:

(MENAFN) Ukraine signed a series of agreements on drone technology cooperation with Denmark, Estonia and the Netherlands on Tuesday during the 36th NATO Summit held in Ankara.

According to reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a cooperation deal with the Netherlands alongside Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

"It will create even more opportunities for joint production and technological development, and most importantly, bring greater consistency to the exchange of expertise and the export of weapons," Zelenskyy later said.

During the summit, Zelenskyy also held separate talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

Following his meeting with Estonia’s prime minister, Zelenskyy said the two sides signed a defense cooperation agreement under the "Drone Deal" framework. He described the agreement as a means to speed up bilateral cooperation and called it a “step forward and a sign of trust.”
