Interpol Identifies Ukrainian Woman as Suspect in Monaco Bombing Incident
(MENAFN) Interpol has identified a Ukrainian woman as a suspect in a bombing in Monaco that injured Ukrainian millionaire Vadim Ermolaev and several members of his family, according to reports.
A public red notice issued by the international police cooperation agency said Anastasia Berezovskaya, 39, is wanted by Monaco authorities on charges including attempted murder and criminal use of explosives in a public space. The notice reportedly includes identifying details such as a possible snake tattoo on her right arm and notes that she speaks German.
According to reports, earlier media coverage suggested investigators made progress in the case and believed the suspect may have disguised herself as a man during the attack. She was also reportedly traced to a European country outside Monaco and France, with indications she may reside in Frankfurt, Germany.
Authorities accuse Berezovskaya of placing an explosive device in a bag at the entrance of a residential building on Rue Reverend Pere Louis Frolla on Monday evening.
The explosion reportedly injured Ermolaev, his partner Anna Nasobina, and their 13-year-old son.
Investigators say the suspect carried out surveillance earlier in the day, allegedly tracking the family near Place des Moulins before following them toward their residence.
According to the account, she walked ahead of the family toward the building entrance, placed the booby-trapped bag on the steps, and left the scene while ensuring the family had entered the building. The child was reportedly the first to go inside before the explosion occurred.
