War Update: 73 Clashes On Front Line Since Morning

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in its operational update as of 16:00 on Wednesday, July 1, according to Ukrinform.

Russian forces continue to shell border areas with artillery. Today, the settlements of Neskuchne, Sopych, Kozache, Tovstodubove, Korenok, Volfyne, Hirky, Buniakyne, Mala Slobidka, Bezsalivka, Potapivka, and Ulanove in the Sumy region, as well as Kovpynka in the Chernihiv region, came under enemy fire.

The invaders also carried out airstrikes on Luzhky and Korenok in the Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian troops carried out 31 shelling attacks, including four using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces made nine attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses toward Ternova, Chaikivka, Sheviakivka, and Zarubynka, as well as in the areas of Lyman, Starytsia, and Artilne.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy had not launched any offensive operations today.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attempts to advance near Novoselivka and toward Stavky and Ozerne.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 15 Russian attacks toward Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as near Riznykivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops attacked three times toward Tykhonivka, Mykolaivka, and near Chasiv Yar.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks near Novodmytrivka, Kostiantynivka, and Illinivka. Three engagements are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces attempted 14 times since the start of the day to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions near Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Vasylivka, Novomykolaivka, and Molodetske, advancing toward Toretske, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka. Three clashes are still underway.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces successfully repelled 12 enemy attacks near Dobropillia and toward Hirke, Krynychne, Huliaipilske, and Charivne. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovske sectors, Russian forces have not conducted any offensive operations today.

The situation remains largely unchanged in other sectors of the front, where the Russian army has not attempted any advances.

Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to wear down Russian troops along the entire line of contact and in the enemy's rear.

As Ukrinform reported, the Russian military command has tasked its forces with establishing control over the Huliaipole and Pokrovsk areas by the end of July, reaching the Haichur River, and creating conditions for further offensive operations toward Vilniansk and Pavlohrad.
