Gaza Death Toll from Israeli Genocide Reaches 73,066, Ministry Says
(MENAFN) Eight more Palestinians were killed and 26 others wounded in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, pushing the cumulative death toll from Israel's military campaign in the blockaded territory since October 2023 to 73,066, the Health Ministry said Tuesday.
In its daily statistical update, the ministry said hospitals across Gaza received eight bodies and 26 wounded patients within the latest 24-hour period.
The ministry did not detail the specific circumstances behind the casualties, as the Israeli military continued what officials described as ongoing violations of the October 2025 ceasefire through shelling and gunfire in multiple areas of the territory.
Some victims remain buried under rubble or stranded on roads, the ministry said, with ambulance crews and civil defense teams still unable to reach them.
Since the truce took effect, Israeli violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,053 people and wounded 3,406 others, according to ministry figures.
Combined, the Health Ministry said the overall toll from Israel's campaign in Gaza now stands at 73,066 dead and 173,514 wounded.
Beyond the human cost, the offensive has left widespread destruction in its wake, damaging an estimated 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure. The United Nations has put the projected cost of reconstruction at roughly $70 billion.
