We Communications Makes Layoffs In The US Amid Budget Cuts
(MENAFN- PRovoke)
We Communications has confirmed to PRovoke Media that it has reduced its workforce by "less than 2% globally", with layoffs happening primarily in the US.
This was in response to budget pressures from technology-sector clients, it said, adding that it was part of annual planning ahead of fiscal year close.
"We will not be disclosing further details at this time," it said. The agency also noted that the APAC region was not affected by any layoffs.
Founded 40 years ago by Melissa Waggener and Pam Edstrom, We Communications has grown into one of the world's largest independent communications agencies, building its reputation through a long-standing relationship with Microsoft before expanding into healthcare, corporate, ESG, consumer marketing and digital analytics.
The agency operates from 21 cities globally and has increasingly positioned itself around helping organisations navigate complex technological change, including the adoption of artificial intelligence.
While the firm reported a roughly 3% decline in global fee income last year, it also cited a 60% new business win rate and 35 new client wins across sectors beyond its traditional technology base.
In March 2025, the agency also unveiled a new brand positioning centred on its ability to "humanize complexity," supported by expanded offerings spanning corporate transformation, executive communications, reputation management and AI advisory.
Earlier this year, PRovoke Media named We Communications one of the 100 Best Agencies in the World, recognising its continued strength as one of the industry's leading independent firms despite ongoing market pressures.
