Amman Launches Free Shuttle Service for Fans Ahead of Jordan–Algeria Match Screenings
(MENAFN) The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced on Monday that it will provide free round-trip shuttle buses for supporters planning to attend public screenings of the Jordan national football team’s match against Algeria. The screenings are set to take place at the Roman Amphitheatre and Hashemite Square.
According to reports, the municipality encouraged fans to use the nearest designated pickup points and follow the scheduled departure and return times to ensure smooth transportation and access to the viewing locations.
Officials emphasized full preparedness to accommodate large crowds and urged broad public participation in supporting the national team. The campaign was promoted under the slogan: "Be on time... let's cheer for the Nashama with one voice."
On the sporting side, Jordan’s national team completed its final preparations ahead of the match, which was scheduled for 6:00 a.m. (Jordan time) on Tuesday against Algeria at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in the United States. The game formed part of the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage.
The team, known as Al Nashama, wrapped up its final training session on Sunday at San Jose Park under coach Jamal Sellami, with all players participating amid significant media attention.
Meanwhile, the Public Security Directorate issued safety guidelines for citizens attending public screenings. According to reports, authorities urged spectators to comply with organizational and security measures designed to ensure public safety and facilitate orderly entry and exit.
Officials instructed attendees to remain within designated zones assigned to families, the general public, media representatives, and people with disabilities.
They also called on fans to keep entrances, exits, and pathways clear, avoid unauthorized gathering areas, and respect venue capacity restrictions.
Entry will be managed under an approved plan, with crowds redirected to additional viewing areas when necessary in coordination with relevant authorities.
The PSD further advised attendees not to bring any items that could pose safety risks or damage public spaces, stressing the importance of preserving the cleanliness and historical integrity of the venues.
