Zelenskyy Sanctions 10 Russian Telecom Firms Over Occupied Territories
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has imposed sweeping sanctions on ten Russian mobile operators and internet providers, his presidential office announced Saturday, targeting companies accused of sustaining Moscow's communications infrastructure in occupied Ukrainian territory.
According to the official statement, the sanctions are aimed at firms allegedly furnishing secure communication channels to Russian authorities, as well as those providing internet access in Russian-occupied Ukrainian regions on behalf of entities serving Moscow's interests.
The package casts a wide net, encompassing internet providers, satellite operators, and companies engaged in broadcasting Russian state television channels to audiences in the affected territories.
Kyiv said it would share a full dossier on the sanctioned entities with its international partners and actively pursue coordinated sanctions enforcement across multiple jurisdictions, signalling an effort to amplify the economic pressure beyond Ukraine's own borders.
