Hezbollah Claims Repelling Two Israeli Incursions in Southern Lebanon
(MENAFN) Hezbollah said on Saturday that it had repelled two Israeli ground incursions in southern Lebanon and carried out a series of 19 attacks targeting Israeli forces, vehicles, and positions using drones, rockets, and artillery.
In a set of statements, the group claimed its fighters detected an Israeli infantry unit attempting to advance toward the Maabar area on the outskirts of Kfartibnit in Nabatieh governorate under artillery and smoke cover.
According to Hezbollah, its fighters directed the force into a pre-prepared ambush zone, where explosive devices were detonated before engaging troops with medium-range weapons. The group added that it later shelled the area with heavy artillery fire, forcing the unit to withdraw.
In a separate account, Hezbollah said another Israeli force entered the town of Majdal Zoun in the South governorate. It claimed its fighters responded with light and medium weapons as well as rockets, and reported the destruction of several accompanying military vehicles.
The statements could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the Israeli military regarding the claims.
