(MENAFN) US First Lady Melania Trump hosted winners of the Presidential AI Challenge at the White House on Tuesday, describing them as a “very impressive group of innovators.”
During the ceremony, she praised the students for their achievements and highlighted their role in shaping future advancements. “I'm proud that you represent the best of America. You are our future,” she said. “You saw AI's potential and created ideas that will shape America's future in many areas, including health care, nutrition, public safety, and beyond.”
The initiative is part of a broader push by the Trump administration to promote artificial intelligence development and expand interest in the field among students and educators.
According to a White House statement, the Presidential AI Challenge is intended to encourage early engagement with AI technologies, helping students develop responsible skills that prepare them for an AI-driven workforce and support long-term scientific and economic progress.
Winning teams were awarded $10,000 along with a presidential certificate in recognition of their projects.
