Hezbollah Says Iran Strikes Aim to Enforce Lebanon Ceasefire
(MENAFN) Hezbollah said Tuesday that Iran’s missile attacks on Israel were intended to increase pressure on Tel Aviv to comply with the ceasefire agreement involving Lebanon.
In its first public response following a day of military exchanges between Iran and Israel that came after Israeli strikes on Beirut, the Lebanese group described Tehran’s actions as a demonstration of support for Lebanon.
“The Iranian response represented a message of moral, political and field commitment toward Lebanon,” Hezbollah said.
According to reports, Hezbollah also linked the Iranian strikes with actions by Yemen’s Houthi movement, portraying them as part of coordinated efforts aimed at “deter Israel.”
“Iran’s support confirms Tehran’s standing alongside Lebanon,” Hezbollah said.
The group further criticized certain official Lebanese positions regarding Iran, arguing that such stances “do not serve Lebanon’s interest.”
According to reports, Hezbollah reiterated several demands it considers central to the country's future, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, the return of displaced residents to their homes and the reconstruction of areas damaged during the conflict.
“These issues remain at the core of national priorities,” Hezbollah said.
