Netanyahu Warns Iran of Severe Response to Future Attacks
(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that any future Iranian attack would be met with a significantly stronger response, following a brief period of heightened tensions between the two sides.
According to reports, Netanyahu issued a video statement claiming that Iran and Hezbollah attempted to establish what he described as a “new and unacceptable equation” through coordinated pressure on Israel.
“They thought they could fire at Israel from Lebanon and Iran and that we would not act. That did not happen, and it will not happen as long as I am in office,” he said.
He further asserted that both Iran and Hezbollah are currently under pressure and cautioned that any renewed attacks would trigger a “much harsher” Israeli response.
The remarks come after media reports suggested Netanyahu had agreed, at the request of US President Donald Trump, to pause strikes on Iran while continuing military operations in Lebanon.
The latest escalation began on Sunday when Israel launched an airstrike on Beirut, saying it targeted a Hezbollah command and planning center. Iranian officials condemned the strike and responded with multiple waves of missile attacks that activated air raid sirens across northern Israel.
