Iran Threatens Strong Response Over Possible Israeli Strikes
(MENAFN) Senior Iranian officials have warned that Iran will respond forcefully if Israel carries out any further attacks, following a recent period of heightened tensions linked to strikes in Lebanon.
According to reports, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said in a post on the social media platform X that recent developments had altered what he described as the balance between a ceasefire on paper and ongoing violations in practice.
“As long as there is no genuine will for confidence-building, Iran’s response will remain the same,” Qalibaf said.
In a separate statement, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued a warning directed at what he referred to as a “US-Israeli alliance.” He cautioned against further actions that could escalate regional tensions.
“If the Zionist-American alliance makes another mistake, the region will become hell for them,” Zolghadr said in remarks carried by Iranian media.
The comments come after a brief escalation between Iran and Israel that followed Israeli strikes in Lebanon, raising concerns over the risk of wider regional conflict.
