Qatar Condemns Israeli Strike On Lebanese Army Patrol

Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar condemned the Israeli attack that targeted a Lebanese Army patrol on the Khardali–Nabatieh road, which resulted in the killing of two officers and a soldier.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, said that Qatar regards this as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the sisterly Lebanese Republic, and a clear breach of the rules of international law.

The Ministry called on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities by compelling the Israeli occupation authorities to cease their repeated attacks on Lebanon, holding them accountable to international charters and laws, and ensuring the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in all its provisions.

The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's steadfast position in support of the Lebanese Republic, its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its full support for all efforts that enhance Lebanon's stability and prosperity. The Ministry also extended its condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Lebanon.
