US-Mediated Lebanon-Israel Talks Conclude in Washington
(MENAFN) The fourth round of US-mediated discussions between Lebanon and Israel wrapped up on Wednesday in Washington, DC, according to Lebanese sources.
The second and final day of negotiations at the US State Department lasted more than six hours, the sources said.
The talks come amid ongoing Israeli military activity in Lebanon, where near-daily strikes have reportedly continued in recent weeks, causing significant casualties despite a ceasefire that began on April 17 and was later extended into early July.
The escalation follows reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a broader ground push and called for strikes on Beirut, further intensifying the situation.
However, Netanyahu reportedly held back after a tense phone call with US President Donald Trump, according to reporting by a media outlet.
