Slovenia Blocks Israeli Charter Flight from Landing Over Permit Issues
(MENAFN) A flight arranged by Israeli carrier Israir was forced to change course and head to Croatia after Slovenian authorities denied it permission to land, according to reports on Wednesday.
The aircraft, operated by Croatian airline Trade Air on behalf of Israir, was unable to proceed with its planned landing in Slovenia due to what authorities cited as missing required permits. As a result, the flight was redirected to Croatia.
Israir Chief Executive Officer Uri Sirkis criticized the decision, describing it as politically motivated.
He called the move "political," claiming that it was caused by Slovenia's "clear opposition to the policies and direction pursued by Israel.”
