Jordan Expands Lebanon Relief Effort With Sixth Aid Convoy
Amman, June 4 (Petra) -- Jordan has sent a sixth humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon, bringing the total number of relief trucks dispatched under the Kingdom's ongoing assistance program to 130 as efforts continue to support vulnerable communities facing growing humanitarian needs.
The latest convoy, which departed on Thursday, consists of 28 trucks carrying food assistance destined for beneficiaries across different parts of Lebanon.
The shipment was organized through cooperation between the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the World Food Programme (WFP), with coordination support from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs.
The new delivery forms part of the Jordanian relief bridge established to provide sustained humanitarian support to Lebanon, reflecting the Kingdom's continued engagement in regional humanitarian response efforts.
According to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, the assistance is aimed at helping meet increasing humanitarian needs while supporting food security and ensuring the delivery of essential supplies to affected families.
The organization said the aid is being distributed through coordinated mechanisms designed to ensure that assistance reaches beneficiaries efficiently and in an organized manner.
With the departure of the latest convoy, the cumulative number of trucks sent by Jordan to Lebanon has reached 130, underscoring the scale and continuity of the Kingdom's humanitarian support.
The organization noted that the ongoing dispatch of aid convoys reflects Jordan's longstanding commitment to supporting countries facing humanitarian challenges and demonstrates the close coordination between national institutions and international partners in delivering relief assistance.
It also expressed appreciation to the Syrian authorities for facilitating the passage of humanitarian convoys through Syrian territory en route to Lebanon.
Jordan has maintained a steady flow of humanitarian assistance to Lebanon through successive relief shipments, with food aid forming a key component of efforts to alleviate pressure on vulnerable households and strengthen food security.
