Dubai, June 3 (Petra) -- The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Health and Prevention said on Wednesday that no cases of Ebola have been recorded in the country, adding that relevant authorities continue to monitor global health developments under the highest levels of preparedness and disease surveillance.
In a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the ministry said the UAE continues to maintain advanced levels of health readiness.
It added that national authorities are coordinating closely with the World Health Organization and relevant international health bodies regarding a traveler who had visited the UAE and was later diagnosed with Ebola after leaving the country and arriving in Uganda several days later.
The ministry said no health authority in the UAE had recorded the individual seeking medical treatment at any healthcare facility during his stay in the country.
The competent authorities had activated the necessary health measures, including risk assessment, contact tracing and approved precautionary procedures, in accordance with national protocols and relevant international standards, the statement said.
