Trump Says Iran’s Khamenei Takes Part in Talks to End War
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump says Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is involved in negotiations to end the war, adding that the two sides “seem to be getting along quite well,” according to reports.
Trump says, “He’s involved, absolutely. Yeah, I think they have a lot of respect for him,” referring to Khamenei, and adds that he would like to meet him “at some point.”
“We’ll probably meet at some point, depending on how it all works out,” he says in an interview with Pod Force One.
He also says Iran has already agreed not to develop a nuclear weapon, calling it “a big thing.”
“We can't let them have a nuclear weapon … they've already agreed they're not going to have a nuclear weapon,” he says, noting that the agreement could still change.
