Russia Says Ukrainian Drone Strike on Donetsk Bus Kills Seven
(MENAFN) According to reports, Russian-installed authorities in eastern Ukraine claimed that a Ukrainian drone struck a passenger bus in the city of Yenakiyeve in the Russia-controlled Donetsk region, killing seven people and injuring 11 others.
Denis Pushilin, the Moscow-appointed head of the region, expressed condolences to the victims’ families in a statement shared on Telegram and wished the injured a swift recovery.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova described the incident as a “human hunt,” according to state media reports. She further accused Ukraine of using what she called “terrorist methods,” though these claims could not be independently verified.
Russia’s Defense Ministry also reported that it intercepted 354 Ukrainian drones overnight across various parts of the country.
In contrast, Ukraine’s military said Russia launched 198 drones during the same period, adding that most were intercepted or neutralized.
Separate regional Ukrainian authorities reported continued Russian strikes. In Kherson, officials said one person was killed and six were injured due to shelling.
In the Odesa region, two people were reportedly injured in overnight attacks, while in Kharkiv region, five additional injuries were reported following morning strikes.
As with previous incidents, claims from both sides could not be independently verified due to the ongoing war conditions.
