Kuwait Temporarily Suspends, Diverts Flights After Iranian Attacks
Doha, Qatar: The Kuwaiti Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced on Wednesday that air traffic has been temporarily suspended after Terminal One at Kuwait International Airport came under Iranian attack, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
"PACA activated the emergency plan in Kuwait International Airport after Terminal One was struck by Iranian missiles and drones, causing casualties and damage to a number of facilities," KUNA stated.
It further added that authorities were dealing with the attack according to protocol while guaranteeing safety of the workers and passengers and securing the facility.
The technical teams have begun inspecting and assessing the damage to the facilities and operational systems to begin repairs and resume operations at the airport.
Earlier, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense said that hostile drones struck Terminal One at Kuwait International Airport, injuring a number of individuals and causing significant damage to the building, after the country came under Iranian aggression late Tuesday night.
