German Chancellor Urges De-Escalation In Lebanon
Amman, June 2 (Petra) -- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called for calm in Lebanon following a recent escalation of violence in the country's south.
According to the German news agency (dpa), Merz said after meeting Hungary's new prime minister, Peter Magyar, in Berlin on Tuesday that the German government is viewing the recent escalation of violence in southern Lebanon with deep concern.
He also urged Israel to adhere to the ceasefire agreed in April.
