Lebanese President Affirms Commitment To Entrenching Civil Peace And Internal Security In Lebanon
Beirut: Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun has affirmed that he is committed to entrenching civil peace and internal security in Lebanon, stressing that anyone who stokes tensions in Lebanon is providing a service to Israel.
Civil peace can never be compromised, because the Lebanese people have become thoroughly convinced that no one will be left behind, Aoun continued.
Aoun pointed out that the political elite in the country is striving as well to get rid of this problem and its disastrous impact by pursuing a clear, unified discourse.
In addition, Aoun recalled that the backbone and foundation for preventing strife are the military and security apparatuses, which are oftentimes subject to criticism and vilification at a time when they continue to offer maximum sacrifices.
He added that those military and security personnel are undertaking their duties thoroughly despite the harsh economic crisis engulfing Lebanon.
