China, Brazil Pledge Stronger Cooperation, Strategic Coordination

(MENAFN) China and Brazil have agreed to strengthen practical cooperation and enhance strategic coordination following high-level diplomatic talks in Beijing, as both countries committed to jointly addressing external challenges and promoting collaboration among developing nations.

The agreement came during discussions between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at the fifth China-Brazil Foreign Ministerial-Level Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue, according to a statement from the Chinese government.

Wang Yi emphasized that China and Brazil, as major developing countries and key emerging economies, should expand practical cooperation, build stronger mutual strategic trust, and coordinate more closely within multilateral platforms.

He also stated that both countries should “jointly counter various external challenges” while reinforcing unity and cooperation among developing states, according to Chinese state media.

Wang further called for greater alignment of development strategies and deeper collaboration in protecting the shared interests of the Global South, describing China–Brazil relations as increasingly global and strategic in importance.
