Malaysia Denounces Al-Aqsa Mosque Raid, Flag Raising Incident
(MENAFN) Malaysia has strongly condemned what it described as a recent raid by Israeli extremists on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, during which the Israeli flag was reportedly raised inside the holy site, calling the act a serious provocation and an affront to its sanctity.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry said efforts to “Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque” are abhorrent and amount to desecration of the site.
The ministry further stated that the latest actions, which it said were supported by Israeli authorities, aim to change the reality on the ground as well as alter the cultural, historical, and religious identity of the mosque.
“Such actions are provocative and unacceptable and disregard the custodial role over Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem. The international community must not remain silent while hostility and aggression are taking place in plain sight,” the ministry said.
Malaysia also urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and concrete steps to stop the violations and ensure accountability for those responsible.
