Zelenskyy Says Strikes on Russian Energy Network Are Disrupting Logistics

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that Ukraine’s ongoing campaign targeting Russian military supply routes and energy facilities is delivering tangible results.

In remarks shared on Telegram, Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces have expanded their ability to strike logistical infrastructure throughout almost all areas of Ukrainian territory currently under Russian control.

He argued that the operations have significantly affected transportation networks in the south and east of the country, saying there are now “practically no safe roads left” in those regions.

Zelenskyy linked the attacks to reported fuel shortages in Crimea and other territories controlled by Russia.

“The plan of our long-range sanctions is being implemented step by step,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian leader further claimed that between January and May, Ukrainian forces targeted 15 Russian oil refineries. He asserted that nearly 40% of Russia’s core oil-refining capacity had been taken offline by May.

Zelenskyy also said Russia had moved to curb exports of aviation fuel and gasoline and was weighing additional limits on diesel exports as a result of the pressure on its energy sector.
