Russia Reports Civilian Casualties Following Ukrainian Drone Strikes in Border Regions

(MENAFN) Local officials in Russia’s Belgorod Region have reported that Ukrainian drone attacks on civilian areas resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.

Authorities said that three civilians were killed and several others wounded after unmanned aerial vehicles struck vehicles in separate incidents across the region.

According to regional statements, one man died following what was described as a drone detonation in the village of Oktyabrsky during the early hours of Saturday.

Officials also reported another incident in the same area in which an FPV drone allegedly struck a civilian car, killing two occupants and injuring two additional individuals.

“Around the same time, Ukrainian forces “deliberately” struck a civilian car with an FPV drone in the same area,” authorities stated regarding one of the attacks.

Further incidents were reported later in the day, including another drone strike on a vehicle in Oktyabrsky that left one person injured, as well as an additional attack in the nearby village of Orlovka, where a man reportedly suffered shrapnel wounds.

Separately, officials in Russia’s Rostov Region said Ukrainian UAVs targeted infrastructure in the port city of Taganrog overnight, resulting in a fire affecting a tanker and a fuel storage facility. The blaze was later extinguished, with no reported fuel leakage.

Authorities also stated that additional drone activity in the region led to injuries after a kamikaze-style UAV reportedly struck a residential building.

Regional officials estimated that dozens of drones were intercepted or neutralized across multiple areas during the same period, according to defense ministry assessments.

In recent months, Ukrainian drone activity has increasingly extended deeper into Russian territory, with reported strikes affecting industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and residential zones.

Russian officials have accused Ukraine of carrying out attacks on civilian targets, while Ukraine has not publicly confirmed involvement in most of the incidents described in these reports.
