Iraqi Airways Halts Beirut Services Citing Regional Security Situation

(MENAFN) Iraqi Airways has suspended all flights to Beirut due to escalating security concerns and the deteriorating situation in the region, according to a statement issued on Monday.

According to reports, the national carrier said the decision was taken to ensure passenger safety and in accordance with aviation security directives and related official instructions.

The airline added that services to the Lebanese capital will resume only after receiving approval from Iraq’s crisis management authorities and other relevant bodies overseeing flight safety.

Iraqi Airways stated that it will announce updated schedules for Beirut flights through its official communication channels once operations restart.

According to reports, the suspension comes amid heightened tensions in Lebanon, following a series of Israeli airstrikes and evacuation warnings affecting areas in and around Beirut’s southern suburbs.
