Zunaida Moosa Wadiwala
PhD Candidate (Wits), LLM (Wits), CISA (Jami'ah SA), CML (UNISA & Pret), CLP (UNISA), LLB & BLC (Pret).
Zunaida leads the African Climate Law Programme at the Mandela Institute, School of Law, University of the Witwatersrand, where she specialises in international climate law, litigation and governance.
She serves as the Regional Lead Rapporteur for Africa at the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, Columbia University, contributing to global climate governance research and reporting on climate litigation developments across the continent.
Zunaida is an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary of the High Court of South Africa, with previous experience as a practicing property lawyer. She is also an examiner for the Legal Practice Council (Law Society of South Africa) for attorney, conveyancer and notary admission examinations.
She is an associate fellow at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL), a Course Leader at the University of Cambridge's Democratising Education for Global Sustainable Justice programme, and a member of the editorial team for the Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment (GNHRE). In addition, she serves as an Editor for the UNESCO Voices of Future Generations Children's Initiative.
Zunaida is currently completing her PhD in international climate law at the University of the Witwatersrand.
