Iran Says Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Are Delaying US Talks
(MENAFN) Iran has stated that continued Israeli military activity in Lebanon is obstructing diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching an agreement between Tehran and Washington.
According to remarks made at a press briefing and carried by state broadcaster IRIB, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said that what he described as ongoing attacks on Lebanon are undermining regional stabilization efforts and disrupting progress toward an agreement.
He added that Iran views Israel as the primary obstacle, arguing that the situation in Lebanon is being used to prevent improvements in regional conditions.
Baqaei also extended responsibility to the United States, stating that Washington bears indirect accountability due to its support for Israel and that, in his view, Israeli actions cannot be separated from US backing.
He further emphasized that diplomatic engagement should not be mistaken for a replacement for power dynamics, noting that negotiations do not necessarily reflect mutual trust between parties.
