Israeli Army Says Rockets Come from Lebanon as Hezbollah Claims Attacks
(MENAFN) The Israeli military reported early Monday that rockets were launched from Lebanon toward northern Israel, coming shortly after Hezbollah announced it had carried out 21 attacks against Israeli military targets over the previous 24 hours.
Israeli media outlets said air raid sirens were activated in the city of Tiberias and nearby areas after incoming rockets were detected crossing the border from Lebanon.
The Israeli army stated that three rockets were fired toward the Upper Galilee region. It added that two of them were intercepted, while the result of attempts to stop the third projectile was still under review.
The reported rocket fire follows a day of heightened hostilities. On Sunday, four people were injured when a drone launched from Lebanon struck the Beit Hillel settlement in northern Israel, according to TV channel.
That incident came after Hezbollah announced a series of operations targeting Israeli military positions, including claims of rocket and artillery strikes in southern Lebanon that it said caused direct hits.
The group also said it fired a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli Hermes 450 surveillance drone operating over southern Lebanon, underscoring the continued intensity of cross-border exchanges between the two sides.
