Israeli Diplomat Trolls Macron with Burning Paris Video
(MENAFN) As France intensified its diplomatic offensive to force an emergency UN Security Council session over Israel's escalating military campaign in Lebanon, an Israeli diplomat in Geneva responded with ridicule — sharing footage of disorder on the streets of Paris to undercut President Emmanuel Macron's moral authority.
Waleed Gadban seized on a post featuring Macron's photo alongside the formal call for a UN Security Council meeting, countering it with a video of jubilant crowds gathered around a scorched vehicle in Paris following Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League victory.
"Meanwhile in Paris," Gadban wrote on X.
The provocative post landed as Paris was mounting its sharpest public challenge yet to Israeli military conduct in Lebanon. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot had gone on record earlier with BFMTV, stating plainly that he has "requested an emergency meeting of the UNSC" to address Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
Barrot made no effort to soften his verdict on the situation.
"Nothing can justify the prolongation of military operations in Lebanon and its increasingly deep occupation of Lebanese territory," Barrot said, calling the situation "extremely concerning." He added that Israel's actions amounted to "a major mistake."
