US May Pull Military Aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport Amid Iran Talks
(MENAFN) The United States is reportedly preparing to remove its military aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv if a formal agreement with Iran is reached, according to reports.
Citing Israeli Channel 12, it was reported that US military aircraft stationed at the airport would be relocated within 72 hours to bases in Europe. The aircraft would reportedly remain on standby for a potential return to Israel should hostilities with Iran resume.
No official confirmation has been issued by either US or Israeli authorities regarding the reported plan.
In recent weeks, Israeli media have shown images of numerous US military refueling aircraft positioned at Ben Gurion Airport, prompting complaints from Israeli civilian aviation operators about congestion and operational disruption.
Channel 12 also reported that Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev sent an urgent letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, urging the immediate removal of US refueling aircraft. She reportedly argued that their presence is negatively affecting civilian airport operations, particularly as international airlines gradually resume flights to Israel.
