Israel Continues Breaching Ceasefire, Killing Palestinian in Gaza
(MENAFN) A Palestinian was killed and five others, including a child, were wounded on Saturday following a series of Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, according to reports.
The incidents occurred during the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, as hostilities reportedly continued despite a ceasefire agreement announced last October that has been repeatedly violated.
According to medical sources cited in reports, “Two injured Palestinians, one in critical condition, arrived at the hospital after an Israeli airstrike targeting civilians near Firas Market in the center of Gaza City,” a medical source at the Baptist Hospital said, speaking anonymously.
Earlier the same day, another strike killed one Palestinian and wounded three others, including a child, near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
“The body of Jamal Abu Aoun and three injured people, including a child, had arrived at the hospital following an Israeli drone strike that targeted a group of civilians near the hospital,” a medical source said.
In separate developments, artillery shelling was reported east and south of Khan Younis in southern Gaza early Saturday, while another strike hit the northeastern area of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
According to figures from the Gaza Media Office, Israeli attacks since the ceasefire came into effect in October last year have resulted in 929 deaths and 2,811 injuries.
