Paul Bowen is Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Scholar in the Department of Construction Economics and Management at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and
Adjunct Professor in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University, Australia. An NRF B2-rated researcher and member of the Academy of Science of
South Africa, Professor Bowen has made significant contributions to research on wellness in the construction industry. Specifically, his work explores issues such as workplace stress, boundary
blurring, work-to-family conflict, alcohol use, depression, and sleep problems among South African construction professionals, as well as HIV-related issues in the context of site-based
workers in the South African construction industry.
