Algeria Expected To Grow Above Forecasts

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Algeria's gross domestic product is expected to grow 4.1% this year compared to 2025, according to revised projections released on Thursday (28) by the African Development Bank (AfDB) during its annual meeting in Brazzaville, Congo. The previous forecast had projected 3.4% growth. For 2027, the institution expects the economy to expand by 4.2%.

According to AfDB estimates published by state news agency APS, Algeria's economy is growing driven mainly by public investment and non-oil sectors. APS reported that the bank highlighted positive economic results fueled by industrial and agricultural production, investment, and household consumption.

The financial institution's figures are in line with Algeria's own projections for 2026 but differ regarding 2027. According to the Algerian government's estimates, the economy will grow 4.4% next year. The bank noted that the Arab country's economic indicators remain solid despite geopolitical tensions and fluctuations in oil prices.
