Ukraine Drone Strike on Starobilsk College Leaves Twenty-One Dead


(MENAFN) According to reports, the number of fatalities from a Ukrainian drone strike targeting a college building and dormitory in Starobilsk, located in the Russia-controlled Luhansk region, has climbed to 21, regional authorities said on Sunday.

The Moscow-appointed administration stated that search and rescue efforts have now been concluded and that all missing individuals have been accounted for, adding in a statement posted on the Russian social media platform Max: "Search and rescue operations have been completed. As a result of the strike, 21 people have died. We express our condolences to the families of the victims."

In a separate development, Yuriy Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told Ukrainian media that Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region using the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.

Bila Tserkva hosts key infrastructure including a cargo aviation complex, a combined heat and power plant, and major road and rail transport hubs, and is also home to significant industrial facilities alongside military sites.
