Crash Between Bus, Ambulance Kills Five in Dhaka’s Bangladesh
(MENAFN) At least five people were killed on Sunday following a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an ambulance in Faridpur district, located roughly 101 km from the capital Dhaka, according to reports.
A local police official said the accident took place at around 10:20 a.m. on a highway connecting the district to Dhaka, when the two vehicles crashed directly into each other under circumstances that remain unclear.
He confirmed that the impact was severe and resulted in multiple fatalities at the scene. "Five victims, all from the ambulance and including the driver, died on the spot."
Authorities also said several passengers aboard the bus sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Hospital officials are continuing to monitor their condition.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and worked to secure the area and assist the injured. Investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the accident, including whether speed, visibility, or road conditions played a role.
